 James Covell McSherry Jim has more than 25 years' experience as an attorney and businessman. Jim's practice concentrates on advising entrepreneurs and business owners on business matters; succession planning; real estate law; and all aspects of business law. In addition, Jim is an experienced estate planner and probate lawyer, who has counseled a wide variety of clients with both simple and complex estate planning, including wills, trusts, tax planning, and gifting. Jim currently acts as general counsel for a number of private companies. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council. Jim served on the Board of Directors of COSE for 15 years. Steven G. Maier Steve graduated with a political science degree from The Ohio State University in 2013. He then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Steve focuses his practice on secured transactions for buyers, sellers, and lenders; corporate law for entrepreneurs and small businesses; real estate law, both in a residential and commercial context; and estate planning. Brian W. Carney Brian brings over a decade of legal experience to McSherry & Co., LPA. He was admitted to the bar in 2010. Prior to joining our firm, Brian's practice involved litigation, where he helped guide his clients through complicated legal processes. He now focuses on a variety of areas of law, including business matters, real estate transactions, and estate planning. Megan M. Roche Megan is an experienced estate planner and probate lawyer who focuses her practice on wills, trusts, gifting, and estate administration. She is a member of the Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Megan is an active volunteer in the local community, and spent many years as a member of the Kenston PTO. Elizabeth A. Flute, Paralegal Beth joined McSherry & Co. in 2003, and has 20 years of experience in the legal field. She is the firm's paralegal and office manager. She assists the firm's attorneys in all areas of law, but focuses primarily on estate planning and probate administration. Christopher Horn - Of Counsel Chris has over 30 years of experience in the general practice of law. As "of counsel", Chris lends his zoning and real estate expertise to the firm. Chris was a member of the Bainbridge Township Board of Zoning Appeals and recently retired as a Bainbridge Township Trustee after 16 years of service. Patrick J. Milligan - Of Counsel P.J.'s practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial/business disputes, higher education law, employment and labor matters, and general liability issues. He served as a Judicial Staff Attorney for the Honorable Dick Ambrose and the Honorable William J. Coyne of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. P.J. was Editor of the Law Review at Cleveland-Marshall. He is currently a Trustee of the Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association, a member of the Executive Committee of The Lawyers Guild for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, and a Life Member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference. Mary Jo Paulett Toumert - Of Counsel Mary Jo is an experienced attorney who has counseled a wide variety of clients on employment and labor matters. She has over 25 years of experience, including a position with the Ohio Attorney General representing the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, acting as Vice President of Human Resources and Legal Affairs for Great Lakes Cheese Co., Inc., and many years in private practice. Mary Jo represents private companies, not-for-profit companies, and governments in all types of employment matters.
